A short journey through UK Pirate Radio. Much like how people used to record radio sets onto cassette tapes, I am presenting an A side and a B side to this mix. Side B includes excerpts and soundbites from some legendary grime radio sets.

This mix was put together to introduce people to our new night at Cakeshop called Planet Turbo, and features many of the songs played at our first party.

Mordecai and I started noticing that more and more people in Seoul are beginning to take an interest in drum and bass, jungle and other fast-paced genres. So we wanted to create a regular night that gives people a chance to listen to genes not normally experienced in Itaewon.
We’re doing it every two weeks on Sunday nights and that was a deliberate choice. We want the party to stand out as something really different from the others, one which is inclusive, less serious, fast-paced, and fun. The aim is to build a community of like minded people who just want to end their weekends well.
The mix is focused on jungle and drum and bass, some of it new and some from when these genres first started gaining ground in the 1990s and early 2000s. I hope people enjoy it, and if they do, I hope they come see us in cakeshop on a Sunday!
And remember. NO DISCO
